A Short Explanation of ADHD (Hyperkinetic Syndrome): Massive problems with the perception of the outer world lead to hyperactivity and deviating behaviour. ADHD grownups with normal intelligence may solve the daily problems through biofeedback or other forms of mental training, but the cause and the symptoms of ADHD never go away.
ADHD can also be found in connection with Retardation (deficient intelligence). By severe retardation there will be much hyperactivity and socially unacceptable behaviour caused by the child’s lack of understanding the ways of the world.
